Prior to becoming a health coach, I earned my BA from the University of Pennsylvania and MBA from Penn's Wharton School. My prior work background
includes sales and marketing positions at companies including Time Warner, Inc. I am a 2005 graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).
During the year 2005/2006, I had the honor and privilege to formally mentor twelve first-year IIN students. In 2007, I earned an additional certificate
in health coaching from Teachers College Columbia University. Currently, I am a mentor to 15 second year IIN students. During the spring of 2010, I
began serving as a member of Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand's Healthy Children Working Group. I have been featured in The New York Times and have
been a guest on Morning Living and Whole Living, both on Martha Stewart Living Radio/Sirius 112-XM 157.
I am 48 and live and practice in my hometown of Mamaroneck, New York (via San Francisco, Manhattan and Paris). I have been married for twenty-four years and I am the mother of three girls. I am primarily a mainstream type with a holistic overlay to my energetic personality. I have always been aware that you are what you eat. I believe the food we eat and our broader self-nourishment plan significantly affects our health, energy, productivity and overall mood.
In my private health coaching practice, I specialize in helping busy individuals prioritize their health and nutrition in an overscheduled and hypercompetitive environment. Many of my clients are overworked high-level executives and business owners trying to do it all. I coach them in areas including stress and time management, balancing career and family and eating healthfully while traveling. In addition to seeing people improve their own health and outlook, I love bringing healthy lifelong nutrition habits to the entire family. To my delight, many clients report their children are requesting oatmeal for breakfast and kale at dinner!
My coaching style is direct, supportive and goal-oriented. I listen well and tie together details from multiple sessions enabling my clients to see patterns in their lives that stand between them and optimal health. Reaching their health goals allows clients to attain additional personal growth benefits beyond what they had originally expected.
Health coaching is the most satisfying career I can imagine for myself. I have true congruity with my career and who I am. In other words, advising family and members of my community on nutrition and lifestyle is something I have always done, even before becoming a health coach.
In addition to coaching clients and spending time with my family, I enjoy yoga, ice skating, biking, gym workouts, swimming, and skiing. Other important activities for me include trying new recipes each week and staying current on what’s happening in the world of health and nutrition as well as in the
rest of the world.
